  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk Use whole milk for richness.
  • 3 pieces eggs Make sure they are at room temperature.
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Blue food coloring Add until the desired shade is achieved.
Topping Ingredients
  • 1 jar frosting (vanilla or cream cheese)
  • Decorative bows for topping Use as desired for decoration.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a heart-shaped cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Combine the flour and baking powder in another bowl, then gradually add this mixture to the butter mixture.
  5. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until smooth.
  6. Add blue food coloring to the batter and mix until you achieve the desired shade.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for about 30-35 minutes.
  2. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick; it should come out clean.
  3. Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting.
Decorating
  1. Frost the cooled cake with your favorite frosting.
  2. Decorate with bows as desired.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or refrigerate for longer storage. Consider adding lemon or almond extract to enhance flavor.
