Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning Adjust based on spice preference.
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes Fresh or canned diced tomatoes can be used.
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce Use iceberg or romaine for crunch.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or a Mexican blend works well.
  • 1 package taco shells or tortillas Follow package instructions for preparation.

Method

Preparation
  1. Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until thoroughly browned.
  2. Drain the excess fat, then add the taco seasoning and diced tomatoes. Stir well and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
Assembly
  1. While the meat cooks, prepare your taco shells or tortillas according to the package instructions.
  2. Once the meat mixture is ready, assemble your tacos by adding the seasoned beef, lettuce, and cheese to the shells.
Serving
  1. Serve immediately with fresh toppings such as guacamole, salsa, or sour cream.

Notes

Store leftover taco filling in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat on the stove or microwave. Best to store shells separately to maintain crunchiness.
