  • 1/2 cup butter Must be at room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • a pinch of salt
  • as needed your favorite frosting or topping Consider adding sprinkles or fresh fruits.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the milk and mix well.
  4. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually blend this into the creamed mixture.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown. Check with a toothpick to ensure it comes out clean.
  2. Let it cool before frosting or serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator for up to a week. For longer storage, they can be frozen for up to three months. Allow to come to room temperature before serving.
