  • various Food coloring for polka dots

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk, and mix until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter into multiple bowls and add food coloring to create different colored batter for polka dots.
  7. Pour spoonfuls of colored batter into the prepared cake pans, creating a polka dot pattern.
Baking and Decorating
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Let the cakes cool completely before frosting.
  3. Frost the cakes with buttercream frosting and decorate with edible roses.

Notes

To achieve bright colors, use gel food coloring for more vibrancy. If desired, skip the edible roses and use sprinkles. Consider adding chocolate chips or nuts for a richer flavor.
