Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup buttermilk Can substitute with whole milk mixed with vinegar.
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter Plus extra for cooking.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
Cooking
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a little extra butter.
  2. Pour about ¼ cup of the batter onto the skillet.
  3. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown.
Serving
  1. Serve immediately with butter on top and optionally add syrup, fresh fruits, or whipped cream.

Notes

Pancakes are best served warm. Ensure not to overmix the batter; small lumps are okay. Adjust skillet heat to avoid burning.
