Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Remove and discard the outer leaves of the cabbage, then carefully separate 8 large leaves.
Filling
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef or turkey, egg, cheese, onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Assembly
- Spoon a portion of the meat mixture into the center of each cabbage leaf.
- Fold the sides of the leaf over the filling and place seam-side down on a baking sheet.
- Lightly drizzle or spray the cabbage burgers with olive oil.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through and the cabbage is tender.
Serving
- Serve hot, optionally topped with your favorite sauces.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place in the oven or microwave until warmed through. Optional: Add diced vegetables to the filling or use different meats and cheeses for variations.
