  • 4 cups potatoes, diced Use russet or Idaho potatoes for fluffiness

  • 1 cup milk For creaminess
Seasonings
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, draining excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the browned beef, diced potatoes, milk, and seasonings.
Assembly
  1. Layer half of the potato mixture in a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish.
  2. Spread half of the cheese over the potato layer.
  3. Repeat with the remaining potato mixture and cheese on top.
Baking
  1. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-30 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  3. Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before serving.
