Ingredients

Essential Ingredients
  • 3 pieces ripe bananas The riper the bananas, the sweeter and more flavorful your bread will be. Look for bananas with brown spots.
  • 1/3 cup melted butter Adds richness and moisture; can be substituted with coconut oil for a dairy-free version.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Can also use brown sugar for a deeper flavor.
  • 1 large egg Helps bind the ingredients together.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances the overall flavor of the bread.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda A leavening agent that helps the bread rise.
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances the sweetness of the bread.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can be substituted with whole wheat flour for added nutrition.
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Adds the rich chocolate flavor.
Optional Ingredients
