Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it with olive oil.
- In bowl 1, combine the flour with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- In bowl 2, beat the eggs until smooth.
- In bowl 3, add the breadcrumbs.
Coating the Chicken
- Dredge each chicken breast in the seasoned flour mixture, shake off excess flour.
- Dip chicken into the beaten eggs, allowing extra egg to drip off.
- Press chicken into the breadcrumbs, ensuring even coating on all sides. Repeat for all chicken breasts.
Baking
- Place the coated chicken on the prepared baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature 165°F / 75°C).
Making the Hot Honey Sauce
- In a small saucepan, combine honey, hot sauce, and red pepper flakes. Heat over low until warm and well combined.
Serving
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then drizzle hot honey sauce over or serve on the side.
- Serve with side dishes like roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, salad, or rice.
Notes
For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs. Marinating chicken in buttermilk can enhance flavor. Adjust heat by modifying hot sauce and red pepper flakes. Do not skip olive oil for crispiness. Let chicken rest post-baking.
