For the Apple Dutch Pancakes

  • 3 large eggs Whisked.
  • 2 tbsp sugar Adjust as needed.
  • 2 tbsp butter Melted, for the batter and cooking.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract For flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) for the pie and 425°F (220°C) for the pancakes.
  2. Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples. Toss them with cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, and cornstarch.
Pie Assembly
  1. Place the bottom crust in a pie dish and fill it with the apple mixture. Top with crumb topping made from mixing flour, butter, and brown sugar.
Pancake Batter
  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, milk, eggs, sugar, and melted butter until smooth.
  2. Pour batter into a hot, buttered skillet and arrange apple slices on top. Transfer to the oven and bake until puffed and golden.
Baking
  1. Bake the pie for 45-50 minutes until the crust is golden and the apples are tender.
  2. Bake the pancake for about 20-25 minutes until puffed and golden.
