Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips About 2 cups.
  • 1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk

Method

Preparation
  1. Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on the sides for easy removal.
  2. Combine the semisweet chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk in a large microwave-safe bowl.
Melting
  1. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each one, until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth and glossy. This takes about 1.5 to 2 minutes total.
Setting
  1. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spread it into an even layer with a spatula. Add any toppings now if desired.
  2. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until completely firm.
  3. Lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper. Cut into 1-inch squares with a sharp knife.

Notes

Store the fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Stir thoroughly when melting to avoid burning the chocolate and allow to cool slightly before adding toppings.
