Preparation
- Line a small rectangular baking tray or cake tin with baking parchment or tin foil.
- Break or chop the chocolate of your choice into pieces and place them in a large microwavable bowl.
Mixing
- Pour the condensed milk over the chocolate and mix together well.
- Place the bowl in the microwave and heat in short bursts of around 30 seconds, stirring in between until the chocolate is almost melted.
- Once the chocolate is melted, beat well with a wooden spoon until everything comes together smoothly.
- If you want to add anything extra, mix it in now.
Setting
- Pour the mixture into the lined tray and spread it evenly. Use a palette knife or spatula to smooth the top.
- If you have toppings, add them now and push them in quickly before the fudge sets.
- Put the tray in the fridge and let it set hard for about 1-2 hours.
Serving
- Once set, take the fudge out and cut into pieces. Enjoy as a sweet treat after meals, or serve with coffee or tea.
- You can also use it as a topping for ice cream or add it to dessert platters.
Notes
Store fudge in an airtight container in the fridge for about a week, or freeze for up to three months. Be careful not to overheat the chocolate in the microwave. Variations include using swirled chocolate or adding flavor extracts.
