Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Mix in vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk.
  7. Pour the batter into greased pans and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool before removing from pans.
