  • 1 bag Tortilla chips Choose sturdy chips to hold the toppings.
  • 1 lb Ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey for a healthier option.
Cheese and beans
  • 2 cups Cheddar cheese Feel free to experiment with different cheeses like Monterey Jack or pepper jack.
  • 1 can Black beans Rinsed and drained.
Toppings
  • 1 cup Jalapeños Sliced, can be adjusted based on preference.
  • 1 cup Sour cream For serving.
  • 1 cup Guacamole For serving.
  • 1 cup Salsa For serving.
  • 1 bunch Green onions Chopped for garnish.
Cooking essentials
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil For cooking the beef.
  • 1 tsp Cumin Spice for flavor.
  • 1 tsp Chili powder Spice for flavor.
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder Spice for flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add ground beef and season with cumin, chili powder, and garlic powder. Cook until browned.
  4. On a large baking sheet, spread tortilla chips evenly.
Assembly
  1. Layer the cooked beef over the chips, then sprinkle black beans and cheddar cheese on top.
  2. Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
  3. Remove from the oven and top with jalapeños, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, and green onions.
  4. Serve immediately.

Notes

For the best experience, serve nachos straight from the oven. Offer extra toppings on the side and pair with a refreshing drink. Leftovers should be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days and reheated in the oven.
