Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until everything is well mixed.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Serving
  1. Once cooled, frost the cake with your favorite icing. A buttercream or whipped cream works great.
  2. Decorate with fresh fruits or natural food coloring for a fun touch.
